6 Months!!

Today is Levi's 6 Month birthday! Today was a very big day for mom & dad, just another day for Levi.  We can't believe how much our little guy has grown!! We see the doctor on Friday and we can't wait to see how much he weighs :)  Levi knows his name and he turns his head to look at you when you talk to him.  He is such a joy!   Since this milestone is all about Levi & his name, we thought we would share a little about how we chose his name.

Levi means joined in harmony.  

In the Old Testament, Levi was the third son of Leah and Jacob, whom the priestly tribe of Levites descended; in the New Testament, Levi was Matthew's given name before he became an apostle.  Some scholars believe the name of Levi refers to Leah's hope for Jacob to join with her, while other Biblical scholars have proposed that it simply means priest.

Growing up, many people used to confuse my maiden name of Stauss(rhymes with house) to Strauss like Levi Strauss.  Levi Strauss was a German-Jewish immigrant to the United States who founded the first company to manufacture blue jeans. His firm, Levi Strauss & Co., began in 1853 in San Francisco, California.  

Patrick means Noble. 

Levi's middle name is Patrick.  He was named after my mom Patricia.  Patrick is the male version of the name Patricia.  My middle name is after my maternal grandmother & now Levi shares the same tradition. 

Brian and I did not know if we were having a boy or girl.  It was one of life's great surprises!  I had a strong feeling it was a boy.  I called him Levi when he was still growing in my tummy.  We went to the hospital with Levi Patrick picked out and a small list of girl names just in case.  

God has surely blessed us with this sweet, funny, happy boy!

This Round Top trip, Aunt Lori & Uncle Mike joined us!  We had the BEST time!!! 

It was a weekend of laughter and great shopping!!

The next weekend was Easter! We went to Church to see Tim Tebows share his story.  It was a really nice service.  Grammy and Grandpa came over for dinner and we all had a great Easter! 

The following weekend Aunt Peggy came and visited us! We had a really nice weekend.  The weather was nice and we were able to be outside most of the time! There are special mannerism siblings share.  When I am around Aunt Peggy, it's like I am spending time with my mom.  It was great to see her with Levi.

Last night Grammy and Grandpa came over for dinner.
Levi rolled from his back to his tummy!!! 

Sitting Up....Well, Kinda!

Levi is attempting to sit up!! Last Friday, I put him a tripod position where he holds his upper body up with his hands.  He can sit in this position now for almost 5 mins.  Sitting like this will build his core muscles, and before you know it he will be sitting straight up.  
After he masters sitting, we will be crawling :)

5 Months and the Easter Bunny!!!!

Today is Levi's 5 Month Birthday!  

We can't believe the time has gone by so fast!! He is a growing boy!! 

We took 5 month pictures the way all Texans take pictures in March! 

It was very difficult to take his picture because Levi was so interested in the

 flowers around him!  He had no interest to look up at the camera :)

And because it is Easter, we had to see the Easter Bunny!!

Food!!!

This week we started feeding Levi cereal!!

His loves it!! He is still learning the concept of a spoon.  Most of the food goes in and comes right back out.  He then opens wide and leans in for the spoon.  He wants more and more :) 

 Levi now also holds his own bottle :)
